'Technology for Governance' is a series of webinars that will explore how data-driven platforms and tools are being used to improve governance capabilities and enhance state capacity. The series is jointly hosted by NITI Aayog and the Data Governance Network, anchored by IDFC Institute.
The series will look at the multitude of ways in which governments across the world are using technological solutions to address governance problems. We plan to bring ideas and best practices from India and around the world to our audience.
The first session in the webinar series took place on 2 December, 2020. It focused on governments' use of technology in their COVID-19 response strategies — and the tension between addressing pandemic risks and protecting citizens' privacy and personal data.
This session, GovTech during COVID-19, featured Shahar Bracha, CEO, Government ICT Authority, National Digital Ministry of the Government of Israel, and Amitabh Kant, CEO, NITI Aayog, Government of India as panellists; and was moderated by Niranjan Rajadhyaksha, Research Director and Senior Fellow, IDFC Institute.
